Hickory Smoked Tofurky deli slices

You'd think it would be hard to duplicate the taste of deli meats. You can't add chunks of tasty vegetables. You can't hide the lack of taste by wrapping the slices in zesty breading. Deli slices are naked and vulnerable. That makes the Hickory Smoked Tofurky deli slices all the more impressive. They actually taste like smoked turkey. And the hickory smoke taste is pretty good. Some companies load up on the fake smoke taste to hide the fact that their product doesn't taste very good. Not so with the Tofurky.

Of course, I've had better real turkey slices, but I've also had far inferior real turkey slices.

These deli slices even have the fake basted-brown edges. Sweet.

Based on the high cost of real turkey, this alt-turkey is pretty cost-effective. That's a big plus, because alt-burgers can be several times more expensive per pound. Based on that and the level of difficulty of creating such a good "naked" product, I'm giving Hickory Smoked Tofurky five stars.

This is my favourite veggie food. I've tried different brands/kinds and they can't compare to this!
