MorningStar's Bacon actually tastes like bacon

Don't let the looks of MorningStar's alt-bacon fool you - these veggie strips actually taste like bacon. I was pretty skeptical when I looked at the box, but after sticking a few strips in frying pan for 5 or 6 minutes, they tasted just like crispy fried bacon.

The only thing missing is the yummy, greasy sensation of eating actual bacon. These strips are bereft of oil/grease, so it's kind of like eating really, really dry bacon.

MorningStar apparently also went out of their way to replicate the random fat content of a pack of real bacon. The picture on the outside of the box has nice curly alt-bacon strips with about 15% "fat" (i.e. food coloring), but the strips I got in my box were clearly from the fatty part of the fake pig.

So if you're skeptical that alt-bacon can be done well, pick up a box of MorningStar's veggie bacon strips. You won't be disappointed.
